Description
The pair of antique English sterling hallmarked silver dome covers are done in the Teniers style which is using motifs and figures from the Flemish painter David Teniers the Younger. This pair is hallmarked London 1857 John Hunt. Both have Russian hallmarks for St Petersburg stamped next to the London hallmarks.
The decoration involved cast figures applied to the finely chased landscape surfaces. The cast finials are figures of men bolted to the domes. Monogrammed on the bottom edge. Good condition.
