Description
An American coin silver hand chased tall ewer retailed by Canfield Bros and bearing the mark of Grosjean & Woodward. Circa 1855. Grosjean and Woodward produced coin silver wares for Tiffany & Company. The pitcher has chased detailed leaves and a large cartouche with an engraved name H M Williams in script. There is a large cast face at the spout. Applied beading at the pedestal base and bright cut enbgraved band at the level of the handle circumventing the body of the pitcher. The handle is a highly detailed naturalistic branch form.
