Massive Gorham Special Order Sterling Ladle c1893

A very special antique sterling silver punch ladle by the Gorham Company with the 1893 date letter mark. Each of the leaves, vines and musical instruments is individually cast and applied to the handle. The bowl has the original gold washed lining. The mark of the Gorham company is on the back of the bowl of the ladle as well as the number enclosed in the rectangle indicating that this piece was a special order from Gorham. Perfect conditi0n with no monogram. The weight is an amazing 13.5 troy ounces.

An important item of Gorham flatware executed in the manner of the Narragansett flatware but with the grape and vine motif.
