Description
Here’s a bit of fun. When the Queen Mary was retired to Long Beach California, they cut her mooring lines and tagged them with a brass plaque with the dates of the life of the ship. This piece measures 5 1/2″. It smells of the sea naturally. The Queen Mary was the most famous of the Cunard Line ships that carried the mail and passengers to the United States. She also moved thousands of soldiers during the war and was responsible for shortening the length of the war together with her sister ship the Queen Elizabeth. As can be seen the line comprises three 1 1/2″ diameter ropes bound together for absolute strength.
