RH6682 Rare Tiffany Antique Sterling Epergne Centerpiece Circa 1870-1876 A rare Tiffany antique sterling silver epergne in the Persian style, the central stem comprising of three arm reticulated extension with platform to support three smaller bowls with a 6" diameter and one larger center bowl with a diameter of 10 1/4".The platform base and bulbous column are decorated with chased abstract fruit and cast applied feet and additional plaques in an Indian style. Fine engraved presentation on the top of the epergne under the center bowl and on each plate. Height 17 1/2"; total weight 114 troy ounces. Circa 1870 - 1876 dated by the production numbers on all four removable plates. Tiffany epergnes are very rare especially museum quality exotic designs such as this one which was probably designed by Eugene Soligny. Excellent condition. SOLD |
