Tiffany Sterling Sugar and Creamer from the Mackay Service
Extremely rare Tiffany sterling sugar and creamer from the Mackay service. John William Mackay was a partner in the silver mines at the Comstock Lode in Virginia City, Nevada. In 1877 his wife, Marie Louise Mackay (Hungerford) commissioned Tiffany to make a one of a kind dinner and dessert service consisting of 1,250 pieces from a half ton of silver from his mine. Monogrammed MLM on one side and coat of arms on the other side. Combined weight 44.30 troy oz. Height of creamer 7"; sugar bowl 8" across the handles.
